Here it is, the new Blog. Boy, these 'web log' things are great, aren't they?
Today I have a lot to talk about as it has been a busy weekend. First, let me say that a stomach virus is a bad thing, but a stomach virus that attacks a baby's belly is ten times worse. Baby Dude got a bug last week on Friday, and he finally beat it one week later with a little help at the hospital.
Yes, we waited as long as we could, but after five days of vomiting and diarea, and two visits to the doctors office, we had to get some extra help for the little guy. It was heart wrenching to see him scream as they put the IV into his arm. Baby Dude has a good set of lungs on him, that is for sure, but it was a bit disconcerting to be told by the nurses that it is a good sign that he has tears as that means he isn't too dehydrated. I felt that he won't have any tears left if he keeps on screaming and crying. I just wanted them to finish so I could hold him.
24 hours later, Baby Dude was getting back to his cute little self again. When we brought him in, he was like a limp noodle, and his eyes were just pleading for some relief. The IV fluids did the trick and allowed him to get his strength back enough to fight off this dang bug. Add to this, he is teething at the same time. So today was a back and forth between a happy healthy baby and a baby velociraptor.
We didn't have a camera with us, but there was a cute scene the morning after he was admitted. Just picture him in a high chair, with a blue baby hospital gown on with rocket ships, feeding himself puffs with his right arm while his left arm is off to the side hooked up to the IV. I guess you had to have been there. lol.
That's all for now.
